A few Designs for Octopunk!

Soooo... While I'm writing octopunk! I'm finding myself writing A lot and doing very little drawing which is why Ive decided to bring out one of my earlier ideas - The children's book about the imaginary friend, ill still be working on Octopunk! but the children's book is just something to keep me from going insane from all the writing.Oh and the Imaginary friend and story is going to change A lot!

Ive decided to put away my pencil for a bit and bring out my pen. I'm four pages in to writing my comic book - Octopunk!

over the next few weeks/months stuff on here is going to look a lot different to normal. I'm trying to get away from my normal cartoon style and try other styles. also try other methods other than pencil to Photoshop.

An Idea i had a while ago for a comic Called Fly Girl, Which a scrapped After Kick Ass came out as she was to Much like Hit-Girl. Any way this was one of her Enemy's Mr Mantle. But now Fly girl Doesn't exist i think i can get away with saying this is my re imagining of Doc Ock.

The Bat is a Mouse

The Story from my last post has changed.

A mouse (a little mad, likes to create strange inventions). its hibernation time, during hibernation, a Forest fire destroys the Forest, he wakes up to the apocalyptic world, he remembers a story his grandfather used to tell him about the magical edge of the Forest. he sets out on his journey. encountering a whole cast of different animals, friends and enemies.

After messing around sketching random things i started to get a idea for a story. Ive always been a huge fan of the Apocalyptic Genre but have always found the existing material similar. I started drawing a Bat and thought wouldnt it be cool to have a bat as a survivor of the Apocalypse? but what if the Apocalypse wasnt the end of the world but the end of the Forrest the bat lives in? he can meet other cool animals on his journey looking for end of the forrest.

After drawing the Felt tip pen Venom i started sketching Venom a lot, i could draw him all day hes a character find to be visually fun to draw. I prefer the big brute monster style of Venom to the human figure.

The idea for this piece came about when thinking back to exploring the woods as a kid and there was this huge sinister looking tree on a hill.

Today i decided to ink someone elses work, something ive never done before. A friend of mine Liam White.
it was fun and will try and do something bigger when i have some free time.

Star Wars is and always has been a huge part of my life. so heres General Grievous and Han Solo.

I remembered one of the first ideas for a comic/video game I ever had. In the distant future robots do almost everything for humans. A robot built by an old man who lives in a junk yard to help him with work. The old man is a huge western fan and the robot never seeing the outside world thinks the world is like a western and when the old man dies he decides to leave the junk yard and become a bounty hunter like in the old westerns.

More imaginary friend stuff..

A sketch page, i seen to draw a lot when I'm watching TV so you will probably see a lot of this sort of thing. Below is the first real Concept for the Kid of the story.

The Story I've been working on (unnamed at the moment) is about a boy and his imaginary friend.
I'm keeping the Plot to myself for the time being.




I have a lot of stuff to upload so things are a little out of order. Theses were done before the first Picture i uploaded. i do prefer the imaginary friends face on these without the mouth, it makes him feel more lost and cute. compared to the other where he just looked dumb and clueless.

The Start of Something..

Ahem.... Hello?!

So Ive finally decided to start a blog for my Art. I don't know why its taken me this long. Maybe because Ive never felt that comfortable with people seeing my drawings, The reason i am doing this now is to keep track of all the work i produce and its a good way to keep track of me evolving as a Artist. i plan on using this space for story ideas, sketches, finished pieces and whatever else comes out of my head (it may not always be art related. i do plan on trying to post often at least once or twice a week.

The first few posts will be old work I've done. starting with a monster for a kids story book I've been trying to work on for the last month.
