Blue beetle

Been reading the new 52 Blue beetle!! This guy is now my new favourite Superhero!!

FEAR!

Scarecrow is one of the best Batman villains in my opinion, you never know what he is going to do and while he isn't much of a match for Batman in a fight he is one of the best villains that break his defences from within and mess with his head. 

i had two goes at drawing him, the first was ok but didn't stand out much. The second attempt was much better, i did want him to be on/ have a cross attached to his back, while it might have looked cool it would have been very practical.

1. start with a tiny quick sketch.
2. using the sketch as reference i do more of a detailed sketch.
3. lines
4. using one of the dry media brushes in photoshop i start painting detail in and shadows.
5. some flat colours.
6. mix the flats with the greys, i lowered the opacity of the greys here.

7. i added a glow to the meth and a bit of a shine to the glasses.

Batman!!

reMIND Pin-up

Jason Brubaker hosted a competition on his blog http://www.remindblog.com/ to have a pin up featured in his next graphic novel reMIND volume 2. I'm a huge fan of Jasons work, and if it wasn't for his Podcast http://www.makingcomics.com/ i don't think i would have started my own comic, Ive always wanted to to never thought i could do it but listening to making comics and reading reMIND gave me so much inspiration and influence so thanks Jason for that!
